Hey everyone!

Here’s a Living Room Session of one of our new songs: “Finding My Way Home”.

http://eyelit.net/videos/

Lyrics:

I have tasted your water
I drank from the fountain
And swallowed in pain

Though children are born here
And young men, they die here
I’m glued to the sun

When earth comes to thank us
The dead come to greet us
And your water is gone

Children laugh while they ought to
But the thing that they cling to
Is built out of dust

Take this silence you’re given
And boil it to loud screams
While the whole world keeps on

First take a drink of the water
And swallow your loud mind
Until the world steals your soul

I’m finding my way home
I’m finding my way home

It’s time to wake yourself from this world your species clings to
I’ve found that worlds are broken by the sounds that come from your mouth
Be still and time will heal all the pain that you have witnessed
A simple pinch will do, hold your breath and…

After over a year, Eyelit finally finished writing, recording, producing, and mixing ‘The Woe Dies’ (their first full-length album). It was an exciting and annoying adventure, and they’re happy it’s finally over. Here’s the story for you…
Once upon a thing, there was a guitar, a guy, a girl, and an occasional piano… drum… mandolin… anyway, there were some people and some instruments. They all decided to sit down and put their sounds together because their last attempt (‘Elephant – EP’) left them embarrassed and unsatisfied. After much deliberation between the piano and guitar, the guy and the girl decided to kick the piano out of the band for being an asshole. Later, the piano came back… but not without some scolding from the guitar.

The guy and the girl are procrastinators, that’s one of the first things you should know. The instruments would constantly nag and moan at the guy and the girl to sit down and put the sounds together, but they (the guy and the girl) didn’t want anything to do with it. See, the guy and the girl were kind of getting sick of pretty folk music and wanted to do something else. But, after much deliberation between the guy and the girl’s talent, they realized they were far too dumb to do anything else (no offense to folk music, of course). So, finally, the guy decided to start putting the sounds together, but sadly, he had just started a job as a janitor… and the guy did not like using his free time to work on music he was bored with. So the guy figured out a way to record and mix at work, after he finished his janitor duties. After many months of this process, the guy finally got pissed enough and quit his job, hoping he’d finish this “album”… but then his laziness and procrastination kicked in again.

After about a month of being jobless, the guy decided that he would try and finish the album. So he brought a violin into the mix to maybe change things up… the guy was very pleased. This violin action gave the guy the kick in the ass he needed to finish putting the sounds together, and that’s what you’ll hear in ‘The Woe Dies’.

As far as the song meanings and recording processes go… that’ll come another day.

The Woe Dies has been in the making for over a year. It was written, produced, recorded, and engineered by Austin and Dansare in its entirety. It features the song ‘I Want You To Want Me’ (originally performed and written by Cheap Trick), but with a more melancholy feel, complementing and bringing attention to the mostly heartbreaking lyrics; ‘The Woe Dies’ also features Abigail Marks on the violin (which adds so much to the album).

After the writing, recording, and mixing processes were finished, Eyelit turned to their fans to help pay for the mastering and printing of the album. Thanks to the band Dubb Nubb, Eyelit found out about kickstarter.com; which helps artists, developers, writers, etc. fund their projects. Thanks to 63 supporters, Eyelit reached their goal of $5,000!

Now, the time has come for the album to be released. Eyelit plans to release the album June 22, and they are excited as poo to start touring around to get the word out.

Eyelit would like to thank you all for the help and support. Without you, this album would not have been possible.
